General Manager:
Kyle Taubert- As a Texas Rio Grande Valley native, Kyle has been involved in agriculture his entire life. He started his career in agriculture working on his uncle’s cotton and grain operation in Cameron and Willacy counties. In 1994, Kyle graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Agriculture Engineering. Before his career in the ginning industry, Kyle worked for the world’s largest livestock market, was a union steelworker for ASARO Smelting, and also worked under the supervision of the Engineering Project Manager at Vickers Hydraulics. Kyle has been the general manager at Taft Gin & Seed in Taft, Tx since January of 2021. Kyle met his wife Kerri over 28 years ago, when they were both employed at Ocho Gin Company in Seminole, Tx. They both continue to work together here at Taft Gin & Seed. Mr. Taubert enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children. He is also an avid hunter and saltwater fisherman.
Office Manager:
Kristi Polk- Kristi grew up in Canyon, Tx where cotton wasn’t present at the time, only other crops. Growing up Kristi wasn’t involved in the cotton industry, but her grandfather was a cotton farmer in Stamford, Tx but she couldn’t be involved at the time. She attended college at South Plains College and West Texas State University. She and her husband Mike married in July of 1989, Mike was actively involved in the cotton industry helping his father with farming and trucking company. His grandfather was also a cotton farmer. Upon marrying into a family so involved in the cotton industry Kristi soon started working at a cotton gin with her husband in Odem, Tx. They moved to South Texas permanently in 1999, when her husband started working for Continental Eagle Gin Repair, even working on Taft’s gin throughout his time there. Kristi started working at EdCot Coop Gin in 1999 and was there for 22 seasons. Kristi has been working at Taft Gin & Seed since 2023. Kristi and Mike have one daughter who was born in August, one of the busiest times in cotton ginning so she has celebrated her birthday every year at the gin she is now married and lives in Corpus Christi.
